A family left hearts broken online after sharing the heartbreaking news of the passing of their  14-year-old mini schnauzer named Uncle Stan.

Named Uncle Stan for raising two kids, he captured the hearts of over 143,000 followers on his dedicated Instagram page (@Uncstan) where the heart-breaking news was shared on August 15th.

“Dear Friends, it is with a heavy heart that I share the news of Uncle Stan’s passing, Lexis, a member of the family wrote.

She went on to acknowledge the difficulty in finding the right words to express the depth of their loss, writing, “I have dreaded this day, and finding the right words has been incredibly difficult. The truth is, there are no perfect words to express the depth of this loss.”

The post described Stan as living a “beautiful, free life, full of joy, family, and adventure.” Lexie finds solace in knowing he is “no longer in pain,” playfully adding, “I like to imagine him still chasing birds in heaven—(minus the tuna can breath. If you know, you know LOL).”

Over the past year, Lexie had shared Stan’s life with her followers, receiving an “overwhelming love and kindness” that brought them comfort.

 She expressed gratitude for the joy Stan brought to everyone and the connections made through sharing his life. The post emphasized that Stan was “more than just a pet; he was a son, a little brother to me and my siblings, and a beloved uncle to all of our children.”
