In a breathtaking rescue operation captured on camera, a woman and her pets were airlifted to safety in eastern Spain as torrential rains brought devastating floods to the region.

The video footage shared on X formerly Twitter by Javier Ballesteros on October, 29  under the username @JaviNakama shows the dramatic moment of the rescue.

The woman, trapped in her wooden house, is seen standing in chest-high floodwaters securely carrying a black dog with one hand, while the other hand clutches a bag looking like cat carrier, likely containing her cats.

As the rescue workers from the Consorci Provincial de Bombers de València arrived by helicopter, a brave rescuer was lowered into the treacherous waters to reach the stranded woman.

The footage shows the rescue worker braving the chest-high waters to reach the stranded woman. With remarkable determination, they pulled her  and her pets to safety and hoisted them into the waiting helicopter.

In the video caption, Javier Ballesteros shared the harrowing ordeal, translated from Spanish, “We managed to get the helicopter to see us and rescue this woman in Utiel who was trapped in her wooden house with her cats and dog. Incredible rescue.”

Ballesteros later confirmed on X that he had “just been given the news that both the lady and her dog and her kittens are all safe.”

Ballesteros later told a local media that “The woman was asking us to call emergency services, but the line was collapsed. Water kept rising and was getting above her waist.”
