BTS’s V Mourns the Loss of Beloved Dog Yeontan

Kim Taehyung, the globally renowned singer and songwriter better known as V of the iconic K-pop group BTS ARMY, has shared a heartfelt tribute to his beloved pet dog, Yeontan, who recently passed away.

The 7-year-old Pomeranian, affectionately nicknamed “Tannie” by fans, had been undergoing multiple surgeries to treat a heart condition. Despite the efforts, his health declined, leading to his untimely passing.

Taking to his Instagram stories on December 2nd, V penned a poignant tribute to the dog , expressing his deep sorrow and gratitude to fans for their love and support.

Addressing the ARMY group, he wrote “Hello ARMY, are you having a warm end of the year? I’m glad the weather isn’t too cold yet! It feels like it’s been a while since I greeted ARMY with music. I have fond memories of preparing the duet with my beloved Hyo Shin hyung, and also the carol by Bing Crosby, whom I deeply respect, which will be released soon. Time flies, and it’s already December.”

V continued, revealing the heartbreaking news of Yeontan’s passing. “Actually, the reason I’m writing this post today is that recently, Yeontan has embarked on a long journey to the dog stars. I thought a lot about how to tell you this, but I felt it was right to share this news with ARMY, who have shown so much love for Yeontan. I would be grateful if you could remember Yeontan and wish for his happiness even in the stars.”

The singer-songwriter concluded his message with a heartfelt wish for the group. “I hope you have a warm end of the year where you can tell your loved ones that you love them once more. I wish ARMY to always be healthy until the day we meet again! I love you. Thank you.”

Yeontan was more than just a pet to V, he had been a constant companion to him throughout his career. In a recent Instagram post, V shared a series of photos and videos capturing precious moments with Yeontan.

In the shared content, V and Yeontan can be seen enjoying a variety of activities. They spent quality time indoors, cuddling together on cozy couches and engaging in playful interactions. Taehyung was also seen lovingly feeding his the dog, showcasing the deep connection they shared.

The adorable Pomeranian’s playful antics and loving nature have also endeared him to millions, making him a beloved figure in the BTS fandom. Yeontan has  featured prominently on the cover art for his solo projects. Yeontan was featured on the poster for V’s debut solo album, “Layover,” and again on the cover of his subsequent single, “White Christmas,” alongside the late Bing Crosby.

During V’s appearance on YouTube channel PIXID in 2023, he opened up on how the pet suffers from a heart condition, and despite having multiple surgeries, they have all proven to be fruitless. he expressed his deepest fear about Yeontan’s health, acknowledging that the dog’s ill-health was his biggest fear.

V expressed profound gratitude for Yeontan’s unwavering will to live, as the dog has miraculously survived each perilous operation.

“Tan has a bad heart and had surgery twice. but both times it was unsuccessful,” V said. “Every time it was unsuccessful, he could’ve died during the surgery. But his will kept him alive. I was so grateful that he fought for his life.”

The news of Yeontan’s passing has deeply saddened fans, especially the BTS ARMY who have taken to social media to express their condolences and share their memories of the beloved pet.
