Former WWE Superstar Dave Bautista has taken to social media to announce the heartbreaking loss of his beloved dog, Ollie.

In a heartfelt post on November 15, Bautista shared a touching tribute to his furry friend, expressing his deep sorrow and gratitude for the joy Ollie brought into his life.

“In loving memory of my sweet boy, Ollie. He fought with all he had, and I hope I made him as happy as he made me,” Bautista wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “He loved people, animals, his sisters (especially Maggie), sunbathing, stealing toys, and bedtime. Thank you to everyone who showed him love. Goodnight, Ollie. We love you.”

The post was met with an outpouring of condolences and support from fans and fellow animal lovers. “I’m sorry for your loss. What a beautiful boy! I’m sending so much love your way,” one user wrote.

“We are deeply sorry for your loss of sweet ollie. The happy memories and unconditional love you shared will be in your heart forever. Sending so much love, comfort, and strength from all of us at PETA,” another added.

Bautista, a well-known animal advocate, has been open about his love for dogs and his commitment to animal welfare. His social media profiles proudly display the title “Dog Dad” and feature photos of his beloved dogs. He often shares heartwarming photos and videos of his dogs, encouraging others to consider adopting a pet.

In 2023, Bautista appeared on the WeRateDogs YouTube channel with his four rescue Pitbull, Tallulah, Penny, Maggi and the recently deceased Ollie who happened to be one of his oldest dogs.

During the interview he revealed that his connection to Pitbull is rooted in a shared experience of being misunderstood and judged unfairly based on his appearance.

“I think there is a definitely in my subconscious that relates to Pitbulls because they are misunderstood and I think people judge them by their appearance which is in my case you know my whole life, because I have been a bigger guy and  I look a little rough around the edges, I look  intimidating,” he said.

“But I mean, I don’t want to pat myself on the back, but I think probably I’m one of the kindest and most gentle that most people will ever meet. I definitely don’t like to intimidate people.”

He also stressed the importance of adopting dogs from shelters, stating, “I love dogs, and it just kills me that so many lovable dogs need homes. I believe firmly in adopt, don’t shop.

He  further shared his experience adopting an abused puppy from Human Society of Tampa Bay, Florida and emphasized the importance of giving rescue dogs a chance.

“I never planned to adopt Penny,” Bautista told the WeRateDogs’ Matt Nelson. “She was rescued by the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, and they put out a reward for whoever abused her. But someone left a chain, she was tethered to a chain.”

“I don’t know how she got loose, but she ended up in a graveyard of all things. They found her trying to dig food out of a trashcan, but she still had this chain that had been around her neck for so long that it was embedded in her skin. And so they put out a reward for this person, and I contributed to the reward,” he continued.

“I was overseas, and by the time I got back, I called to check on her and see if there was any update on whoever abused her. They said ‘no,’ and I said, ‘Did anybody adopt her?’ They said ‘no,’ and I said, ‘Can I come down and get her?’ They said, ‘Please, come down and get her.’ She’s been with me since. She’s my baby girl.” “She came in with a chain embedded in her neck, and she left in a Rolls Royce,” Bautista added.
